Mining:

Vietnam has abundant mineral resources, including black, non-ferrous, and rare earth metal ores, bauxite, and gold ores. Vietnam is the third largest mineral producing country in Southeast Asia, with approximately 5000 mineral deposits and mining areas discovered, as well as 70 types of mineral resources. The mining industry is the third largest contributor to Vietnam's GDP, with a growth rate of up to 8.15%. Vietnam plans to build over 70 coal-fired power plants by 2030, and is expected to shift its economy from a net exporter of coal to an importer. Vietnam has the world's second-largest rare earth reserves, approximately 22 million tons, accounting for 19% of the world's known reserves.
